Everyday beauty
Her work pays attention to what often goes unnoticed: a familiar scene, an object, a gesture or a visual memory connected to what feels close.
Nerea Amondárain Blázquez (Donostia, 1997) is a Basque artist based in Barcelona. Her work grows from a warm, familiar and contemporary view of the beauty of everyday life.
Although she was interested in art from a very young age, it was not until November 2024 that she began working with oil painting.
Her work is based on seeing beauty in everyday life, blending emotions with her love for fashion and animals.
Her work pays attention to what often goes unnoticed: a familiar scene, an object, a gesture or a visual memory connected to what feels close.
Fashion appears as part of her visual language. Not as a decorative element, but as a way of speaking about identity, presence and character.
Animals hold an important place in her pictorial universe. They bring tenderness, personality and a close emotional reading.
Oil painting allows her to work with layers, texture and depth. In Nerea’s work, this technique strengthens the feeling of paused time and gives each piece a calm presence.
Each original artwork is unique and unrepeatable. The natural variations of the handmade process, the thickness of the paint and small irregularities are part of its artistic authenticity.
